Colours

This page serves as a guideline reference on how to use colours when creating a design. The intent is to provide functional guidance as opposed to creative direction.


# Action Colour (Brand Defined, example: MS One to One) # The action colour is used for anything which denotes interaction. Including buttons, tabs, etc. This colour should remain consistent accross all channels to optimise accessibility and consistency.
# Accent Colour (Brand Defined, example: MS One to One) # The accent colour is used in specific situations which require highlighted attention. To establish brand recognition, this colour should align to the key colour for the specifc brand.
# Success Green # The accent colour is used in specific situations which require highlighted attention. To establish brand recognition, this colour should align to the key colour for the specifc brand.
# Error Red # This colour is used to denote error. Examples of use include failed form attempts when logging in.
# Surface # The default surface (background) colour for all brands.
# Emphasis Surface # This colour is used to provide emphasis on surface when needed. An example use case for this is the ‘Recommended Content’ component which features three cards.
