Design Principles

These design principles shape the rationale and reasoning behind the components we have created within this design system library. Before establishing new components, these principles should be consulted.

Accessible

Accessible

To meet the needs of our users, our components have to be accessible. Due to the nature of some conditions, our users may experience physical difficulties when accessing digital content, therefore it is imperative that we consider the needs of the user before creating and using components.

Considerate

Considerate

Our users are busy and active and therefore may not have the time to engage with long pieces of content. Therefore, we consider the lifestyles of our users when choosing appropriate components to facilitate content. This should be considered in both content approach and user journey.

Simple

Simple

Simply put, our design elements should be obvious and understandable. There should be minimum confusion from a user perspective as to the purpose of a component. This philosophy relates directly back to the above principle of consideration.

# Creating new components ## In certain circumstances, bespoke components may need to be established (for example: Truth or Dare for MS One to One). In this situation, our design principles need to be considered and referenced. ## After creation, these components should be validated by <relevantperson> before going live.
